Born and raised in NYC Dylan Karle  learned how to work with glass in the Salem Community College Scientific Glass Technology  program. He uses borosilicate glass, a robust glass that is more heat and impact resistant; and a technique called flameworking, where he holds premade glass tubes and rods in his hands while heating it with a torch on the table in front of him. Working primarily with artists and jewelry designers, he has fabricated a wide variety of objects from, including: delicate flowers, 27" hollow spirals, 18" tall bubble sculptures, and cabinet knobs. He also makes his own work, which range from figure sculptures to stemware. Prototyping, one-offs, and limited production runs, we do it all!
